About Anna
Anna Mathur MA MBACP (Accred)
I am a compassionate, Integrative, and relationship-focussed Psychotherapist currently working from my home near Godalming, Surrey. I have worked with a diverse range of people, exploring a large variety of issues for both long and short-term durations. I have a special interest and passion in working with pre and post natal issues, such as post natal depression, anxiety and birth trauma.
I am currently offering sessions from my home in Godalming. Previous contexts include:
As an Integrative therapist I don't believe in 'one size fits all'. I work differently with each client, drawing on different elements of theory and practice to create a way of working that is unique to your needs. I have been trained in a broad spectrum of approaches and techniques that allow me to do this effectively.
I believe that many emotional difficulties arise from a requirement to be strong and self-sufficient from a young age - for whatever reason. One may utilise coping mechanisms that serve the purpose at the time, but aren't sustainable techniques to carry on into life. I work to explore such mechanisms gently, over time, assisting the client in developing healthier and more sustainable self-support and external support systems. I am particularly passionate about working to develop a compassionate inner voice with those experiencing consistent self-criticism. I have found this to be a pertinent mechanism in recovery from anxiety, depression, self-harm and addiction to name but a few.
If you would like to know more about my style of practice, or to meet me for an initial consultation, please don't hesitate to contact me.
